The Hardest Part Of The Run…

Big emotions, bush tracks, freezing mornings, a dodgy knee, a whole lot of laughs, and even more heart 💙

Brooke made it out of Brisvegas and pushed north toward Rockhampton, kicking off from Morayfield with the classic “7am-ish” launch. No fluff, no drama, just the raw reminder that this run is about showing up. Every day. For yourself, for others, for the ones still fighting.

6,000km Down, First Blue Tree Painted This was huge. After 6,000 kilometres, Brooke and Suz painted their very first Blue Tree 💙, a powerful moment that marked more than distance. It was a pause to honour the purpose behind the pain, and to remind every town rolling by: You matter. You’re not alone. Conversations can change everything. Covered in blue and full of heart, they left their mark for the next person who might just need to see it.

Nambour Stops, Knee Wobbles, No Set Routes The week kept rolling north toward Gympie, with stops that included a cheeky moment at Nambour Police Station (yes, really, no arrests, just smiles 😅). The route? Loosely planned at best. The knee? Throwing attitude, as usual. But here’s the thing, not every day has to be perfect. Brooke proved (again) that showing up when it’s hard, awkward, or unknown… that’s where the strength is built. That’s where the “Just One More” magic hits 💪

Freezing Starts, Fiery Determination The temps dropped fast, mornings hit zero ❄️ Gloves came out. Muscles got stiff. The cold tried to bite. But she didn’t stop. She cracked jokes, kept her legs moving, and found her flow again on the A1. There’s something weirdly comforting about returning to that long highway. It’s gritty, unforgiving, familiar. Kinda like life. And she ran it with fire in her belly.

Quieter Miles, Real Recovery With the knee acting up, it was a quieter week in terms of distance. But that early finish on Wednesday? It gave Brooke the rare chance to recharge. Campfire warmth, body reset, mental pause. Sometimes, slowing down is the most powerful move.

Podcast in a Paddock Thursday brought a surprise too, a podcast with Bevo, recorded in a paddock. Yep. Runner spotted in the wild 🎙️ Stay tuned for the full episode, it’s real, raw, and full of heart. Oh, and the sunset views? Pretty damn perfect for recovery 💙

Having Her Dad and Matt There, Support That Hits Different Big moment. Big feels. Brooke’s dad joined her for the first time on the run, and it brought her to tears. After weeks of pushing through, having her dad and Matt by her side lit something deeper. Support doesn’t need to be loud or fancy, it just needs to show up. Being seen, hugged, and cheered on by the ones who matter most? That’s fuel you can’t buy 💙 It reminded her (and all of us) how important it is to let people in.

Matt the Cameraman… Not Quite It Rolling through Childers, Brooke stopped at Ampol for a quick reset, and tried to let Matt get some content. Let’s just say… he’s better at the hugs than the filming 😂 (Seriously, if we kept relying on him, the doco would look like a blurry sighting of Bigfoot in the wild.) Good news? A real content creator’s stepping in soon. It’s about to get spicy 📸

The Real Stuff Cold toes. Blue paint. Dad hugs. Campfires. Ice baths. Snack breaks. Happy tears. This is what Week 15 was made of. It wasn’t clean or easy, but it was beautiful. And Brooke’s still out there, still choosing: Just. One. More.
