Week 9 Recap: 4,200km In, All-Nighters & Family on the Road

This week on Brooke McIntosh’s Just One More run around Australia was a wild blend of grit, laughter, and sheer determination. As her kilometres climbed past the 4,200 mark, so too did the energy around her mission.

👟 Running with Her Brother

One of the most heart-warming moments of the week came when Brooke was joined by her brother, Kamdyn McIntosh, AFL premiership player for Richmond. Watching the two run side-by-side was a powerful symbol of family support — and a reminder that behind every massive effort, there’s a village of loved ones cheering you on.

“Two famous Australians — unreal,” someone quipped as they passed by.

💥 No Routine, Just Rhythm

Brooke reflected this week on how no two days on the road have been the same. One day it was flat tyres, the next she was joined by fellow runners even in the most remote locations. From early morning starts in freezing fog to spontaneous stops at Sea Life with her little sister, the momentum just kept building — along with the community forming around her.

She passed through the outer edges of Melbourne with a huge group of runners, soaking in the support as she steadily made her way towards Sydney.

🌙 Rogue Run to $100K

In classic Brooke style, things took a beautifully unpredictable turn when she decided — mid-afternoon — to run through the entire night.

The plan? Run continuously until 11am the next morning to push towards her $100,000 fundraising milestone.

With Suzie hyping her up, Matt reluctantly agreeing live on Instagram, and the crew assembling by torchlight with high-vis vests, toasties, doughnuts and bikes, the “rogue run” was on.

“It’s Saturday night — not the kind of all-nighter we’re used to, but we’re high on energy and ready to go.”

By late evening, Brooke and the team were still pushing through the darkness, a few kilometres north of Chiltern, stopping briefly for fuel, then heading right back out.

💛 The Movement Grows

Brooke’s journey is creating space for Just One More conversations around mental health, resilience and community. Every kilometre is a message: you’re not alone, and just one more can change everything.
